Piccoli Cantori di Torino

The Piccoli Cantori di Torino children choir, founded in 1972 by Roberto Goitre, is the nucleus of an association that includes a music school and numerous choral ensembles. It currently consists of around 55 singers aged between 9 and 16.
Since its foundation to date, the choir has collaborated with many Italian Orchestras and musical seasons and institutions, participated in concerts, festivals and reviews all over Europe, created the international festival Voci in movimento now in its 11th edition, and won a Creative Europe call for tenders.

It also sang at the 2006 Olympic ceremonies, with Elisa in 2011 and Robbie Williams in 2014, participated in national television programmes, staged several chamber operas and recorded numerous CDs. The musical partnership began in 2005 with conductor Carlo Pavese, pianist Gianfranco Montalto and singer Marcella Polidori, assisted in recent years by Irene Barbiera in musical aspects and Gloria Magnetti in organisational ones.

The choir’s most recent engagements have included the collaboration with the baroque ensemble Brù, the recording of a CD dedicated to the Italian poet Gianni Rodari for the national choral federation, an exchange with the Finnish choir Vox Aurea in 2022/2023 and participation in the Voci d’Europa international festival in Porto Torres in September 2022, as well as the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the choir’s foundation.

Giovani Cantori di Torino

The Giovani Cantori di Torino Choir are 50 girls and boys from 14 to 21 years old, a mixed youth choir of the Associazione Piccoli Cantori di Torino, founded in 2012.

They have performed for important audiences, both Italian (MiTo Settembre Musica, Pomeriggi Musicali) and international (Bonn, Usedom, Barcelona, Madrid, Vaison-la-Romaine), collaborated with a wide range of musicians (from the viola da gamba class of the Conservatory of Turin to Eugenio in via Di Gioia, with whom they performed in concert at the Stupinigi Sonic Park), recorded the CD ‘Common Language’ and embarked on a path to broaden the very boundaries of the concept of choir.

The Giovani Cantori di Torino Choir have in fact sung with the artists of the Vertigo Circus, produced the theatre, song and magic show ‘Il mistero Gastoldi’ (The Gastoldi Mystery), recorded the singing parts of the anthology of the new music manual for secondary schools ‘Prima la musica! ‘ by Nicola Campogrande, created a vocal installation with the artist Marco Cordero (for Monte Verità in Ascona and for the church of Santa Chiara in Turin), sang and walked the runway to great critical acclaim for the Cormio brand during Milan Fashion Week, and inaugurated Eurovillage  on the occasion of the event Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
